Bunny Guinness
'The M&G Garden' Designer 2011
Bunny Guinness, designer of 'The M&G Garden’ in 2011, is a multi award-winning garden designer, landscape architect and journalist, with an outstanding pedigree at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Bunny is a Chartered Landscape Architect who works on a wide range of commissions for a diverse clientele. Private commissions vary from tiny city gardens and user-friendly family schemes to large stately homes, while commercial projects span public gardens to golf courses, hotel gardens and shopping precincts in Europe.
Bunny’s Cypriot flavoured garden won the Best Garden in the Series Award on Carol Vordeman’s Better Gardens, and a number of her schemes were featured on Guinness in the Garden, her own programme which ran to three series. For the last 11 years she has also:
-
been a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time (designing the programme’s own garden at Sparsholt College)
-
written a weekly column in the Sunday Telegraph
-
become an author of her own book ‘Family Gardens’
Although Bunny has competed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show nine times and won six gold medals, this year sees her return to design ‘The M&G Garden’ after an eight year absence at the show. Speaking about her design for M&G, Bunny said: “It is exciting to be back at Chelsea and a fabulous opportunity to be working with M&G Investments. The garden is designed to be a space to enjoy and to benefit from as it is filled with attractive, productive plants arranged enticingly in easy, raised woven beds. The huge floating glass platform creates an elevated but relaxing chill out space above and a protected and heated light filled space below - ideal for people and plants in cooler conditions.”
Bunny will be commenting on our blog and social media feeds leading up to and during the show.
